Two days as a Vacation on Whidby Island without the kids; Three days as a Trip in The Olympic National forrest with the girls.

First two nights camping on Whidby Island

Eric's dinner the first night, Alison had a 2lb Dungeness Crab (live 2 min prior to boiling)

 Day trip, tried to go wine tasting, but all four were closed, so we just drove around the island.

Ferry ride from Coupville to Port Townsend (our Van was the second to last let on) 

 

Lake Crescent

 The last evening was at Lake Cushman, just up the road from Hoodsport. One of the top 5 places I've ever camped in my life.

 The water was stunningly crystal clear, and icy cold.

 

So far so good with camping on Whidby Is.

5am, over the river and through the woods, to Grandma's house we go.
